If you haven’t got a chance to experience the latest Android flavour on your smartphone, you can now reach Android x86 project to taste the Nougat version right on your PC. The new development is designed for x86 platform-based hardware, including notebooks and desktop PCs.

The arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat on x86 architecture brings its various special features to a large screen. For instance, you can use the multi-window mode on your desktop’s monitor to open two windows simultaneously. You can also experience 3D graphics rendering through the new API Vulkan.

To install the latest Android on your PC, the Android-x86 project page provides you some detailed instructions. But if you want to keep things simple, a downloadable disc image is also available online.

Android Nougat on your PC may not be as smooth as its existence on a Nexus device. However, it gives developers a way to test the newest version hardware other than smartphones and tablets.

This is not the first time when Android debuted on the desktop environment. Remix OS is already available as a stable build to run Android Marshmallow on PCs.

Android Nougat everywhere

Google’s Android Nougat is apparently nowhere limited to mobile devices. Just few days after its official release for Nexus 5X and 6P, the operating system arrived on Raspberry Pi 3 through an unofficial port. The platform is also likely to reach Android Wear devices soon to deliver the fresh experience on smartwatches.
