The open source community can now experience the next world of security through the updated Fedora 25 ISO images. The latest release brings Linux kernel 4.9.6 and includes some security patches for all the official spins.

Fedora 25 was first released in November last year. Just in a couple of months after its debut, the platform had received an update with Linux 4.9.4 in January and is now running the newest kernel. The updated Fedora 25 ISO images include support for desktop environments such as GNOME, KDE, Xfce, Cinnamon and LXDE.

Apart from adding the new kernel, Fedora Ambassador Ben Williams announced that the community would receive updated lives on even kernel releases. “From now on, we will only be releasing updated lives on even kernel releases,” Williams wrote in a blog post.

Interestingly, the updated Fedora 25 Linux ISO images will save nearly 700MB of downloaded packages from your system. This means that you will now have more space for developments. Also, you should download the latest version especially if you are planning to experience the Fedora world on a fresh hardware.
