Epaathsala Launches India’s First Open Source ERP With Chatbot

Epaathsala, a Times of India Group company, unveils India’s first open source AI-driven ERP for higher education, enabling intelligent automation, compliance, and student empowerment.

Epaathsala, a Times of India Group portfolio company, has launched India’s first generative AI-driven open source ERP designed to transform campus automation. The platform combines generative and agentic AI to streamline institutional workflows—from admissions to alumni relations—while maintaining audit-ready compliance.

A standout feature is its conversational chatbot interface, which guides users through campus processes, simplifies data entry, and reduces errors. The system includes an AI Teaching Assistant that automatically generates course modules, assignments, and assessments aligned with CO-PO attainment. Its advanced AI-powered LMS delivers adaptive learning content, video and quiz generation, timetable optimisation, and peer-review support.

The platform offers over 50 scalable modules, integrates with third-party APIs, and conforms to all four quadrants of LMS. Its accreditation management framework supports NAAC, NBA, NIRF, ABET, QS, and other standards, offering real-time audits, automated scoring, gap analysis, and actionable improvement roadmaps.

For students, the AI Mentor app provides curated MOOC content, reskilling pathways, competitive exam prep, and industry internships to enhance employability.

Adopting an open source model, Epaathsala provides a free base download with optional hosting and premium support, along with full knowledge transfer, installation assistance, and training.

Suman Nandy, Founder & Director, said: “Our goal was to move institutions from data management to intelligent decision-making.” Sulagna Singha Roy, Vice President, added: “Quality tools should not be limited by institutional wealth.” Pooja Vasudev, Assistant Director, emphasised: “Education systems must evolve in step with AI innovation.”

Already implemented in leading Indian institutions, Epaathsala plans to roll out its generative AI-based LMS internationally within the current financial year, demonstrating how open-source innovation can democratise AI adoption in higher education.
