GraphDB 9.0 aims to make it easier for developers to create and operate knowledge graphs said the report. It does this by opening multiple integration extension points. GraphDB is Resource Description Framework (RDF) or triple-store database. It uses RDF4J framework interfaces and the W3C SPARQL Protocol specification.

Various plugins made open source

The report said that the new design comes with a redesign of the database Plugin API. It added that developers said that this design makes it simple to implement complex software logic to the core database engine. The company has made many plugins open source and demonstrated ways to solve tasks like data virtualization with the MongoDB plugin. According to the report, a GraphDB GeoSPARQL plugin can be used to convert Well-Known Text from various coordinate reference systems (CRS) into the CRS84 format.

GraphDB.js drive also open source now

As GraphDB Workbench is also an open source project now, It will help developers to develop knowledge graph prototypes from the default AngularJS administrative interface. The report added that GraphDB also comes with an open source GraphDB.js driver. It is optimised for Node.js and other development frameworks.
