Square is unveiling yet another bitcoin focused open source project, founder Jack Dorsey, revealed on Friday in a series of tweets.

“Square is creating a new business (joining Seller, Cash App, & Tidal) focused on building an open developer platform with the sole goal of making it easy to create non-custodial, permissionless, and decentralised financial services. Our primary focus is Bitcoin. Its name is TBD,” Dorsey tweeted.

He has mentioned in thread that similar to bitcoin hardware wallet, Square is making it completely open. TBD, to be led by Mike Brock, will work as a platform for developers to create open source finance applications.

The company already funds Square Crypto, dedicated to build free and open source projects around bitcoin. Though TBD sounds similar to Crypto, Dorsey clarified saying the projects will run separately. “ Square doesn’t give direction to Square Crypto, only funding. They chose to work on LDK, and are doing an incredible job! TBD will be focused on creating a platform business, and will open source our work along the way,” he tweeted.
Dorsey said the company would soon establish Twitter and GitHub accounts to provide project updates.
