A few of the ways ALTR is putting money into the data ecosystem include starting an open-source project, releasing interfaces with Alation and Matillion, and hiring industry veteran Stephen Campbell as President of Alliances.
With support from Alation Inc., ALTR, today announced its open source data governance initiative designed for the Snowflake Data Cloud. Customers will benefit from this initiative’s simplified, barrier-free cloud data stack. These industry innovators are introducing this open-source strategy to the traditional data governance sector, while other vendors in the data domain are concentrating on exclusive markets or charging for special connections.
Data governance is made possible by non-proprietary connectors, with access control and security extending from databases to data catalogues to ELT to cloud data platforms. Customers experience less complexity by enabling plug-and-play connections between generally available software.
The employment of Stephen Campbell as VP of Alliances & Partners is another another demonstration of ALTR’s commitment to the development of the data ecosystem. In hyper-growth environments, Campbell has over 25 years of expertise leading and managing alliances, technological partnerships, and go-to-market operations.
Campbell, a well-known transformative change professional, joins ALTR from Incorta and has had leadership positions managing strategy and expansion for Collibra, Aginity, MapR, VMware, and HP. By enlisting new technology and system integrator partners, he will take the lead in spreading the open-source integration strategy to the larger data ecosystem.
One of the top 75 credit unions in the United States, TDECU, has already decided to use the open connector framework to integrate Matillion ETL and ALTR tokenization. Among the technology partners invited to Matillion Super All Hands 2023, which took place in Manchester, UK, from February 14–16, was ALTR. The Future of Data Governance with Matillion and ALTR was the topic of a workshop that ALTR led.
Regional and international Solution Integrators can more quickly and simply create data stacks that cater to the unique demands of their clients thanks to open source integrations. A leading independent customer experience firm is already using tokenization throughout the ETL process for one of its main cloud solution providers, AllCloud, to use ALTR’s interface with Matillion. Only a limited number of stakeholders can access important business KPIs thanks to a solution provided by ALTR and AllCloud, while the rest of the organisation has democratised access to data from several disjointed systems.
