CIQ has open sourced Ascender Galaxy Proxy for the Ansible community while expanding Ascender Pro with automated detection, remediation and multi-environment management for Enterprise Linux operations.

CIQ has open sourced Ascender Galaxy Proxy, the caching layer behind its Ascender Pro automation platform, making it immediately available to the wider Ansible community. The release extends the company’s Linux automation investment beyond its commercial platform while introducing new capabilities for automated infrastructure management.

Alongside the open-source Galaxy Proxy, Ascender Pro now automates the complete detection-to-remediation workflow across Enterprise Linux fleets. The platform continuously identifies infrastructure issues, determines corrective actions and automatically applies fixes to the appropriate hosts without manual intervention.

The update introduces three new capabilities for Ascender Pro customers: Ascender Reaqt, Ascender Registry and Federated Inventories.

Built as independent Go services from scratch rather than adapted from an existing open-source project, Ascender Reaqt automates remediation while providing separate endpoints and authentication tokens for each rule set, alongside a web UI, API, dashboards and metrics for administration.

Ascender Registry enables organisations to mirror approved Ansible Galaxy collections, host them locally, publish private collections, operate a container registry for execution environments and maintain compatibility with existing Ansible tooling through the upstream Galaxy API structure.

Federated Inventories groups existing inventories while preserving their configurations, automatically identifies the correct target inventory and distributes jobs across multiple environments without additional setup.

“For our customers, this release isn’t about matching a feature checklist; it’s about giving operations teams their time back. Federated Inventories alone removes a routing problem that used to require its own tooling or a manual step, and paired with Reaqt’s automatic remediation, a single alert can turn into a fix on exactly the right host without anyone standing in the middle,” said Bjorn Hovland, President of CIQ.

Ascender Reaqt, Ascender Registry and Federated Inventories are available immediately for existing Ascender Pro customers, while Ascender Galaxy Proxy is available as an open-source project.
