Modellix has released a beta plugin for open-source DeepSeek Harness, giving developers free access to open-source LLMs and a gateway to 28+ models through one API key.
Modellix.ai has released dsh-modellix, a beta plugin for DeepSeek Harness, an open-source AI coding agent that has reportedly attracted nearly 200,000 GitHub stars within two weeks of its August 13, 2026 launch.
The plugin connects Harness to Modellix’s LLM gateway through a single API key, with free LLM access as its key offering. Developers can select modellix-ai/free-llm, which automatically routes requests to current state-of-the-art open-source LLMs, or use zai/glm-4.7-flash at $0 per call.
Beyond the free options, developers can access 28+ models spanning OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, GLM, Qwen, DeepSeek, and Kimi without changing API keys.
The integration reflects Harness’s plugin-first architecture, built around the motto “Everything is a Plugin.” Modellix’s plugin integrates into Harness’s native model selector, allowing third-party providers to extend the open-source coding workflow.
The plugin provides three independently toggled capabilities: LLM access, Web tools through web_search and web_fetch, and Design tools for image, video, and audio generation.
“AI coding agents are becoming the default front door to AI development, and the ecosystem around DeepSeek Harness is growing remarkably fast,” said Mr. Weidong Luo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Mobile.
