JetKVM Mini is a compact KVM-over-IP device that uses the ESP32-P4X for video capture, H.264 encoding and USB functions while offering Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity.
JetKVM Mini is a smaller and lower-cost version of the JetKVM KVM-over-IP system, measuring just 42 × 42 × 23 mm in its aluminium enclosure. It replaces the Rockchip RV1106G3 and Linux platform used in the original design with an ESP32-P4X running FreeRTOS through the ESP-IDF framework. The change eliminates the RAM and eMMC storage required for Linux while retaining functions such as video capture, encoding and USB emulation.
The ESP32-P4X version uses two high-performance 32-bit RISC-V cores running at up to 400 MHz, alongside a low-power RISC-V MCU core running at up to 40 MHz. It includes 32 MB of PSRAM, a 2D Pixel Processing Accelerator and hardware support for H.264 and JPEG encoding. Video input is provided through HDMI, supporting up to 720p60 or 1080p30, while JetKVM OS Services can enable 4K capture by performing the video encoding on the host computer.
Two variants are planned. The standard JetKVM Mini provides 100 Mbps Ethernet, while the JetKVM Mini W adds dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth for onboarding and an ESP32-C5 module with 802.15.4 connectivity. Both versions include a 240 × 240 IPS information display, 16 MB of flash, a microSD card slot for virtual media and a USB Type-C port for keyboard, mouse and virtual-media emulation. A second USB-C port provides 12 Mbps connectivity for secondary power and future expansion.
Despite the move away from Linux, the device is intended to retain the same user experience and protocols as the original JetKVM, including its web interface and cloud integration. On compatible Windows, macOS and Linux hosts, JetKVM OS Services can additionally provide shared clipboard functionality, a guest terminal and file transfer. The system can also provide remote BIOS access, allowing a computer to be controlled before its operating system has started.
The firmware requires a complete rewrite for the ESP32-P4X platform, but JetKVM says it will be open-sourced on its GitHub account closer to launch. JetKVM Mini is priced at 39 dollars, or 33 dollars per unit in a three-unit bundle, while the Wi-Fi version costs 42 dollars or 36 dollars per unit in a three-unit bundle. The matchbox-sized KVM is scheduled to become available on 26 October 2026.
