The market distribution numbers shared by Google suggest a significant increase in the Nougat share. With the latest results, Android Nougat is now installed on over 9.5 percent of Android-backed devices around the world.

Compared to the last month, Android Nougat has observed the gain of 2.4 percent in June. The interesting part of the development is the Nougat updates that a large number of manufacturers are pushing to their devices.

Google developed Android Nougat as the successor to its Marshmallow version back in August last month. It brought features like a night mode and manageable notifications. Also, the platform unofficially reached dated hardware like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and x86 architecture-based desktops.

Dated versions continue to drop

While the Nougat version is gaining, Android 2.3 Gingerbread continues to falling down. The dated build has declined to 0.8 percent from 1 percent last month. Likewise, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has received a stagnant market share at 0.8 percent, same as the month of May.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is considered among the popular Android versions, has also faced a drop in June. Its market share has been dropped to 8.8 percent this month. Notably, the Jelly Bean version was being dominated by 9.1 percent.

Besides, Android 6.0 Marshmallow has maintained its market share at 31.2 percent. Android Lollipop stands at 30.8 percent, which is down from 32 percent last month.
