MainStreaming has joined the OpenMOQ Software Consortium and is contributing engineering resources to develop open-source Media over QUIC software, helping accelerate scalable, ultra-low-latency streaming.
MainStreaming has joined the OpenMOQ Software Consortium, an industry initiative developing open-source software to implement the IETF’s Media over QUIC (MOQ) and QUIC standards. As part of the membership, the company is committing engineering resources to the development of open-source MOQ software, reinforcing industry efforts to build a shared foundation for next-generation media transport.
The company will work alongside other OpenMOQ members on open-source ingest, relay and playback implementations designed to support broader adoption of the MOQ protocol.
MainStreaming said it will contribute operational expertise gained from delivering live and on-demand video at scale for broadcasters, OTT platforms and ISPs. This experience is expected to help guide technical decisions around reducing latency, improving scalability and optimising viewing experiences across live and on-demand streaming.
Media over QUIC is designed to support ultra-low-latency streaming while enabling efficient distribution to broadcast-scale audiences. Through participation in OpenMOQ working groups, MainStreaming aims to accelerate the industry’s transition to scalable, low-latency media delivery.
