Claudinho is an ESP32-based physical representation of the Anthropic Claude Code mascot. The project was created by argeuthiesen on GitHub as an open-source project on November 3rd 2026. This project uses event-driven hooks to give developers a visual notification on a physical device when there are updates to their AI coding assistant. This helps to take the developer away from their screen during Claude Code sessions.
Claudinho Connects Claude Code With ESP32 Hardware
The project uses the Wi–Fi capabilities of the ESP32 to receive updates from Claude Code. Using an event hook system, the ESP32 will listen for events whilst coding. When a task is started, code is fully generated, or there is an error, the ESP32 will read the information and provide a visual notification either on a screen or LED matrix. Events can be set for specific events to notify the user.
The firmware for this project has been developed using C++ and uses the Arduino framework. This means any developers familiar with ESP32 coding will feel comfortable. The firmware handles networking, parsing the JSON event data and providing visuals on the hardware. Due to the modular design, there are lots of options to customise and connect with other AI coding tools. The ESP32 provides a cost-effective solution.
Claudinho is an open-source project available on GitHub, which allows developers to have access to its firmware, installation guide and hardware specifications. It is a showcase of how AI coders can be integrated into real-world devices.
