SUSE Teams Up With Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences For Cloud And Open Source Learning

According to a report by Crn, the SUSE Academic Program has signed a MoU with Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS) to collaborate in providing Linux and open source learning and skills to students. As per the report, the programs aims to give aspiring professionals necessary technical expertise and help them access opportunities in the cloud job market. This will be done with the help of ‘SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in Enterprise Linux” certification.’

As per the report, SUSE will support the program with course materials for cloud-related technologies like DevOps, cloud application development, cloud administration, and enterprise Linux. The report said that Marco Kraak, vice president of channel, SUSE EMEA and APJ, said that through the SUSE Academic Program, it is supporting academia to meet the changing demands of the digital economy. It is doing so by providing open source knowledge, training materials and an affordable education opportunity. He added that this will help students explore job possibilities in the fast-growing technology space.

Technical training course library, curriculum, virtual labs

According to the report, as a part of the program, SUSE will provide staff and students with full access to technical training course library, curriculum, virtual labs and educational resource. It will also endorse and support B.Tech and M.Tech in computer science and engineering courses offered by KITS. The faculties will also be provided with technical experience and practice through a “Train the Trainer” approach.

As per the report, Rajarshi Bhattacharyya, country manager, SUSE India said that by educating and preparing the next generation of professionals, it is ensuring the future growth and adoption of open source. He added taht this collaboration will help in the way for learning and skill development in this area.
