Linux-Based MOSART SDR Stack Powers Metanoia’s AI-Ready Open RAN Platform

Metanoia Communications has launched an AI-powered 5G Open SDR platform built on its open-source MOSART Linux-based SDR stack to accelerate AI-RAN deployment and reduce proprietary telecom infrastructure lock-in.

Metanoia Communications has unveiled an AI-powered 5G Open SDR (Software-Defined Radio) platform at Wireless Japan 2026, positioning open-source SDR infrastructure as a key enabler for AI-native Open RAN deployments.

The platform combines the MT2824 5G SoC, FR1 and FR2 Open RAN radio solutions, and MOSART (Metanoia Open Source Advanced Radio Technology), an open Linux-based SDR stack integrated with MRAS (Metanoia Radio Acceleration Subsystem) DSP acceleration technology.

Metanoia said the flexible SDR architecture is designed to accelerate AI-RAN deployment by enabling seamless AI workload integration, improved energy efficiency, longer hardware lifespan, on-demand software upgrades, and higher deployment flexibility compared to traditional fixed-function radio architectures.

The platform fully supports O-RAN Alliance WG7 “white-box” architecture and includes multiple Open RAN hardware configurations, including 4T4R 24 dBm Indoor ORU, 4T4R 5W and 15W FR1 Outdoor ORUs, and a 50 dBm FR2 Outdoor Radio for FWA and private networks.

The company is also offering complete Hardware Design Kits (HDK) and Semi-Turn-Key Software Development Kits (SDK) to accelerate ODM development and commercialisation while reducing proprietary software lock-in.
