SUSE is expanding its India strategy with open-source infrastructure for sovereign AI, giving enterprises greater control over AI workloads, data and deployment environments.
SUSE is expanding its India strategy around digital sovereignty and open-source enterprise infrastructure as organisations move generative AI workloads from pilots into production. The company is positioning open-source infrastructure as a foundation for enterprises seeking greater control over where AI runs, how data is governed and which infrastructure it depends on.
At SUSE Summit Mumbai 2026, the company introduced SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA, combining NVIDIA AI Enterprise with SUSE’s open-source infrastructure and governance framework to support private AI environments. The platform is designed to let enterprises deploy AI workloads in customer-controlled environments while addressing data-governance and regulatory requirements.
SUSE’s Navigating Digital Resilience 2026 report found that 62% of Indian organisations are actively investing in digital sovereignty, compared with 52% globally. It also found that 90% of Indian IT leaders expect AI budgets to increase, even as organisations face challenges in building secure infrastructure for large-scale deployments.
SUSE is also bringing Linux, Kubernetes, edge computing and multi-cloud management together in a unified infrastructure platform for workloads across on-premises, public-cloud and edge environments, with support for DPDP Act and CERT-In compliance.
“Moving AI from pilot to production isn’t about becoming dependent on third-party APIs. Organisations need to own their intelligence, where their models run and how their data is governed,” said Rhys Oxenham, Vice President and General Manager of AI at SUSE.
