Percona Live Amsterdam will bring database leaders, developers and enterprises together to showcase real-world open-source database deployments and community projects shaping business-critical infrastructure.
Open-source databases will take centre stage at Percona Live Amsterdam, where database engineers, developers and technology leaders will gather around MySQL, PostgreSQL, Valkey, MongoDB and MariaDB. The event highlights the growing use of open-source databases in large-scale, business-critical infrastructure, with enterprises sharing how they are deploying, optimising, securing and migrating database systems.
Scheduled for September 9–11, 2026, the event is described as the largest independent open-source database conference and will feature more than 50 presentations. Organisations including Booking.com, BigBasket, BBVA, Careem, Mastercard, Nomura, Oracle, SUSE, Wise and Yandex Cloud will discuss database pipelines, MySQL management, MongoDB optimisation, AI-written data models, Valkey isolation, database migration, sovereignty and multi-region resilience.
Community projects will include the OurSQL Foundation, MySQL Community projects, PostgreSQL ahead of its expected version 19 launch, MyVector, MyDumper, OpenEverest, BuildDevCon and Comunidade MySQL Brazil.
Percona CEO Peter Farkas will also address open-source licensing and its role in making open source work effectively. He said, “Database teams have to deal with issues like sovereignty, resilience and with regulation affecting their working processes, while still delivering the performance and security that their organizations expect around their data.”
The event will also address data sovereignty, regulation, resilience and vendor lock-in, positioning open-source database infrastructure as a means for organisations to retain control over their data.
