The Arduino UNO Media Carrier expands the UNO Q and VENTUNO Q with easier access to MIPI displays, cameras and audio interfaces.

The Arduino UNO Media Carrier (ASX00083) is an open-source hardware expansion board designed for the Arduino UNO Q and UNO VENTUNO Q single-board computers. It brings commonly used multimedia connections to dedicated connectors, avoiding the less convenient 60-pin JMEDIA and JMISC headers exposed by the host boards.

For displays, the carrier provides a 22-pin MIPI DSI connector supporting standard MIPI-DSI modules, including 5-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch Waveshare touch displays. Two additional 22-pin MIPI CSI connectors support camera modules based on sensors such as the IMX219, including the camera module used with the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 2.

Audio connectivity is provided through three 3.5-mm jacks, covering microphone input/headphone output, line output and earphone output. The board also retains passthrough access to the 60-pin JMEDIA and JMISC connectors, exposing interfaces including I2C, an 8-bit PSSI parallel camera interface and GPIO at the respective voltage levels. Four RGB LEDs provide additional status or application feedback.

The carrier measures 68.58 × 53.34 mm and can draw power from the host through the JMEDIA and JMISC connections. It also provides a 7–24 V DC input through a four-pin header and a dedicated 3.0 V VCOIN input for the host board’s RTC. The specified operating temperature range is from -10°C to 60°C.

Arduino is providing pinout diagrams, a datasheet, PDF schematics, Altium CAD files and STEP models for the board, making the design resources available for hardware development and modification. Documentation also includes a user manual and a Kiosk Mode tutorial demonstrating the UNO Q with a Waveshare MIPI DSI touchscreen.
