Israeli startup DataAgent has raised $10 million to expand an open-source AI agent to automate repairs of production faults inside customers’ Kubernetes environments.
DataAgent has launched with $10 million in pre-seed funding to expand an open-source AI agent that diagnoses and repairs production faults directly inside customers’ Kubernetes clusters. Founded in January 2026 by Ishay Yaari, Chief Executive Officer, and Nati Shalom, Chief Technology Officer, the company plans to use the funding to accelerate customer adoption in North America. Both previously worked at Cloudify Platform, an open-source cloud orchestration company acquired by Dell Technologies in 2023.
The agent analyses live system state, topology and configuration drift where the data already resides, determines the likely cause of an incident, and applies customer-pre-approved fixes through defined guardrails. Deeper root-cause analysis runs offline after service restoration, which DataAgent says can reduce mean time to resolution.
The agent can run standalone at no cost, while a paid SaaS tier provides fleet management and orchestration. It operates inside cloud-native control planes alongside existing observability tools, with data leaving the customer environment only when deeper external inspection is required.
“In 10 years, no one has ever heard an engineering leader say their organization’s observability costs went down and that is no accident,” Yaari said. “When a vendor’s revenue is your data ingest, it cannot cut your bill without cutting its own.”
Shalom said the industry has spent 15 years “building better ways to watch production and charging more for it every year,” adding that AI copilots have not changed the outcome. He described autonomy as an architectural shift rather than an observability feature.
DataAgent claims customers can cut observability costs by up to 90%.
