Finland-based Aiven has launched operations in India, establishing Bengaluru as a strategic base for expanding its AI-ready data infrastructure business across the Asia-Pacific region. The company is focusing on enterprises that need scalable data platforms without being locked into a particular cloud or proprietary technology stack.
The platform provides fully managed versions of open-source technologies including Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse, OpenSearch, Valkey, and DataHub. This approach allows engineering teams to build and operate data-intensive applications across major cloud environments while reducing the infrastructure management effort required internally.
The company sees the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence as a major driver for demand. AI applications depend on continuous access to large volumes of reliable, well-managed data, making data storage, processing and streaming infrastructure increasingly important. Technologies such as Kafka can support real-time data streaming, while databases and analytics platforms can provide the persistent data layer required by AI and modern applications.

It plans to engage with India’s developer and open-source communities through technical events and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
