EnterpriseDB collaborated with Infosys to help enterprises modernise their databases landscape on-premises and in the cloud
A deliberate partnership and solution have been announced by the two digital business players of the market to support enterprises modernising their application portfolio using the open source-based EDB Postgres Platform.
The twain will offer a straightforward alternative for organisations moving away from proprietary databases while significantly reducing their database total cost of ownership (TCO).
Switching from a single platform
Enterprises today are moving applications away from a legacy monolithic architecture where the user interface and data access code are combined into a single program from a single platform.
They are heading towards a service-oriented architecture leveraging cloud, container, microservices and new related technologies. Therefore, the two enterprises have developed automated tools and accelerators to help enterprises in adopting this transformation.
Alliance to ease next-generation services
Infosys Code Impact Analyzer combined with the EDB Migration Toolkit significantly decreases the time and risk of moving legacy databases to EDB Postgres.
President and CEO of EnterpriseDB, Ed Boyajian stated about the importance of their partnership with Infosys that will bring together application domain and product knowledge along with a unique set of automation tools and accelerators necessary for successful database migrations at scale.
The duet is also planning to offer a powerful joint solution that will address the real enterprise needs while streamlining application and database transformation. Data is the new fuel and it is driving many of today’s application modernisation in which Open source-based databases are playing a key role in these initiatives.
Hence the two enterprises can help clients manage and leverage rich insights from data in a more efficient and cost-effective manner by working together.
