DFRobot Vice President Sandy Zhang outlined strategies for fostering hands-on AI literacy and a developer mindset at Astana’s TAMYZ FORUM 2026.

DFRobot, a major global provider of open-source hardware, robotics, edge computing platforms, and STEM/AI educational solutions, participated in TAMYZ FORUM 2026 on 17–18 August in Astana, Kazakhstan. There, Vice President Sandy Zhang delivered a keynote titled ‘Advancing AI Education Through Practical Innovation.’ The event, organised by Astana’s Education Department and Methodological Center, gathered 3,000 in-person and 20,000 online participants across 15 sessions focusing on constitutional values, AI, and human capital.

Sandy Zhang compared regional AI education strategies, noting North America’s focus on curriculum standards, Europe’s emphasis on literacy and ethics, and Asia’s scaling of pilot programs. She identified four shared global priorities: curriculum standards, student competencies, teacher development, and responsible AI use.

DFRobot unveiled its HUSKYLENS 2 AI Vision Sensor which allows students to gather and analyze data, train their own computer vision models, and deploy hardware to perform real-time visual recognition, including investigating the bias and privacy issues related to the technology. The company also demonstrated its Mind+ platform combined with hardware, sensors, teacher training, and curriculum as an all-inclusive STEM learning solution for K-12 education, universities, and researchers worldwide.

“More importantly, through this ‘developer mindset,’ we hope to enable students to think critically about how to use AI to serve society and empower them to have the confidence to use technology as a tool to explore and innovate,” said Zhang. DFRobot partners with UNESCO, ALECSO, Kathmandu University, and Chiang Mai University to organize teacher training, curricula, and robot competitions.
