Open source to be an essential part of curriculum in Universities

Red Hat has established a partnership with more than 100 colleges and universities all over the globe to provide enhanced training in open source domain. As part of the partnership, Red Hat will also provide certifications in upcoming technologies like DevOps, Cloud IT automation and many others.

To name few, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University and Amity university have recently included system administration curriculum in their updated engineering syllabus. As per the ongoing progress and the recent developments in the field of open source in India, Red Hat India have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), Department of ITE&C, Government of Telangana keeping in mind the future of students wanting to be tech-geeks.

Red Hat Academy’s core curriculum comprises of system administration and system engineering on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, besides Red Hat JBoss middleware administration. For, Cloud IT automation, the curriculum includes introductory Red Hat OpenStack (cloud) content and imparts technical training to the associated faculty members.

The courses are global and are spread in 35 locations across North America and 85 locations worldwide. The instructors are selected based on their Red Hat Certifications. Moreover, they are all experienced Red Hat Certified Professionals who are aware of the course curriculum.     Read more…
