YuzukiNeko is a compact open-hardware development board based on the Allwinner F101S3, combining a XuanTie C907 RISC-V processor with Pico-style expansion, PSRAM and NOR Flash.
YuzukiNeko is a compact open-hardware development board designed around the Allwinner F101S3-CXX system-on-chip. The board follows a Raspberry Pi Pico-style form factor with a two-by-20-pin expansion layout while providing a RISC-V platform for graphics, display, audio and general-purpose hardware projects. The hardware design is released into the public domain under the CC0 1.0 Universal licence.
At the centre of the board is the F101S3 SoC featuring a XuanTie C907 RISC-V CPU. YuzukiNeko includes 16 MiB of PSRAM and 16 MiB of external NOR Flash with execute-in-place support. The board also provides a USB-C connector, a microSD card socket and a button labelled FEL, while its Pico-style headers expose a range of interfaces for connecting external hardware.
The F101S3 platform provides capabilities beyond those typically associated with small microcontroller development boards. Its hardware supports JPEG and PNG image decoding, JPEG and MJPEG encoding, display processing and graphics operations. Display output options include RGB888, LVDS and four-lane MIPI DSI, while audio capabilities include a DAC, I2S/PCM and OWA output.
YuzukiNeko also exposes a wide range of peripheral interfaces through its expansion headers. These include USB 2.0, SDIO, SPI, UART, TWI, CAN, PWM, infrared reception and analog input capabilities. The pin functions are multiplexed, allowing developers to configure individual pins for different hardware interfaces depending on the requirements of a project.
The open-hardware approach is one of the central aspects of the project. The repository welcomes contributions covering schematics, PCB files, bills of materials, BSP support, sample projects, errata and verified pinout information. By releasing its hardware design under CC0 1.0, YuzukiNeko provides makers and developers with an openly available Pico-sized RISC-V platform for experimenting with multimedia, embedded computing and custom hardware projects.
