A standalone SaaS platform that helps enterprises build, deploy and govern AI agents using existing security frameworks, reducing complexity and accelerating large-scale adoption.
Liferay has introduced AI Hub, a standalone software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed to help enterprises build, deploy and govern artificial intelligence agents while leveraging existing security and compliance frameworks. The new offering aims to address one of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption: governance. Many organizations struggle to scale AI projects due to concerns around data security, compliance requirements and the complexity of managing multiple AI deployments across departments. Liferay says AI Hub enables companies to accelerate implementation without redesigning security architectures that have taken years to establish.
The platform allows enterprises to create and manage AI agents through a low-code environment. These agents operate within existing access-control structures, ensuring users can only retrieve information they are already authorized to access. Every interaction is logged, providing an audit trail that supports compliance and governance requirements.AI Hub is built on the same security framework used by Liferay’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP). By extending existing governance controls to AI workloads, the company aims to reduce deployment timelines from months to days. The platform also keeps sensitive enterprise information within organizational environments, helping companies maintain control over critical data assets.
A key differentiator is its model-agnostic architecture. Unlike solutions tied to a single AI vendor, AI Hub supports integration with multiple large language models (LLMs), including offerings from Anthropic, Google and OpenAI. Enterprises can add or replace models as technology evolves without rebuilding workflows or AI agents, protecting long-term technology investments. The platform also incorporates support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling AI agents to access and utilize information from compatible enterprise systems. This capability allows organizations to connect AI tools with internal documents, product catalogs, knowledge repositories and operational databases.
Liferay is positioning AI Hub as a solution for both IT teams and business users. Prebuilt templates are available for common tasks such as content creation, while organizations can also develop custom agents tailored to specific operational requirements. The platform supports multi-agent orchestration, allowing businesses to combine specialized AI agents into broader workflows. Potential applications include marketing content automation, compliance reviews, customer service triage, supply chain risk monitoring and audience segmentation. Additional capabilities, including human-review checkpoints and event-driven workflow triggers, are expected in future releases.
