YourStory, in collaboration with Meta, has launched ‘Bharat Builds With Llama’, a short-form docu-reel series that highlights how Indian startups are harnessing open-source Llama models to tackle India-specific, real-world challenges.
Each episode, roughly two minutes long, follows a single applied use case in its actual working environment, showing AI already in action rather than promising futuristic breakthroughs. The series captures the grassroots innovation of early Indian builders fine-tuning open-source models for local languages, diverse contexts, and resource-limited environments.
The featured startups span multiple sectors, including health information tools, multilingual learning support, legal documentation, accessibility solutions, and customer operations. They demonstrate AI applied to simplifying everyday tasks, improving access to information, and increasing efficiency in traditionally underserved or complex systems.
What makes the series uniquely Indian is the context-driven problem-solving under real-world constraints, unreliable infrastructure, diverse languages, limited resources, and legacy systems not built for AI.
