SUSE has expanded its Cloud Elevate Program to let enterprises buy mission-critical open-source software through existing AWS and Google Cloud credits, cutting procurement friction and accelerating Linux and Kubernetes modernisation.

Enterprise open source is moving closer to a native cloud consumption model as SUSE has expanded its Cloud Elevate Program, enabling customers to procure mission-critical software directly through AWS and Google Cloud using existing cloud credits.

The update sharply reduces the traditional procurement friction that often slows enterprise infrastructure upgrades, allowing organisations to consume SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and SUSE Rancher Prime through pre-committed hyperscaler spend rather than separate software purchasing cycles.

The expanded framework introduces two major commercial pathways. On AWS, authorised distributors can now manage private offers with custom pricing while keeping billing consolidated under a single AWS account. On Google Cloud, partners can push discounted, tailored terms directly into customer consoles through Marketplace Channel Private Offers.

This cloud-credit-native route strengthens SUSE’s enterprise open-source distribution model by aligning Linux and Kubernetes procurement with existing cloud buying behaviour. It also allows partners to help customers transition workloads to public cloud while preserving preferred technology stacks and providers.

“By expanding the Cloud Elevate Program, we are easing the procurement and consumption process that often slows down new projects,” said Hayley Wienszczak, Global Head of Ecosystem Programs, SUSE. “This is about choice: giving our customers and partners the flexibility to buy and run SUSE software wherever they do business, without the headache of traditional billing.”

SUSE said the model can deliver 40% faster sales cycles, 66% less administrative time, and deployments up to 20 days earlier, underscoring how open-source infrastructure is increasingly being monetised and consumed through hyperscaler marketplace economics.
