The Linux Foundation’s LF Networking has adopted Deutsche Telekom’s open-source StratoWeave platform, bringing community governance to AI-native network orchestration and accelerating zero-touch automation for complex telecom networks.
The Linux Foundation’s LF Networking (LFN) has adopted the open-source StratoWeave orchestration platform, bringing the Deutsche Telekom-developed project under neutral community governance to accelerate AI-native, zero-touch network automation.
Originally developed by Deutsche Telekom (DT), StratoWeave automates and orchestrates large, complex network infrastructures using layered declarative models, model-driven orchestration and reactive closed-loop automation. The platform eliminates manual scripting by allowing operators to define the desired network end-state across multivendor and multidomain environments, simplifying automation for increasingly distributed, cloud-based telecom networks.
The move to LF Networking is expected to broaden collaboration, expand integrations and support long-term ecosystem growth through open-source development.
“StratoWeave was created to make robust network automation more accessible, more transparent, and more adaptable for operators,” said Ian Farrer, Senior Architect for Group Technology at Deutsche Telekom. “Joining LF Networking gives the project a neutral, collaborative home where we can work with a broader community to mature the platform, expand integrations, and help communication service providers (CSPs) build automation systems that can evolve with their networks.”

StratoWeave joins LF Networking’s expanding portfolio of telecom open-source initiatives, alongside Huawei’s autonomous networking framework and the O-RAN Software Community’s full-stack open RAN software, further strengthening Deutsche Telekom’s role in the open-source networking ecosystem.
